Job Vacancy – School Reps 2014/15
Do you want to help improve the lives of your fellow UEL students and get paid to do so?
UEL Students’ Union are continuing a project launched last year with the introduction of paid School Level Student Representatives for the start of beginning November 2014.
UELSU is currently looking for the following:
1 School Rep from ACE (School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering)
1 School Rep from ADI (School of Arts & Digital Industries)
Salary: LLW £8.80
Hours: up to 60hrs per Academic year
Location: Docklands/Stratford
To be eligible to apply as a School Representative:
• You must be a current student and studying this Academic Year, 2014/15
• Be passionate about improving your school and the student life for current and future students
• Able to attend half a day of training
• Able to commit to attending meetings, including School Boards & Committees, Student Experience Committee
• Competent in using IT, particularly with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and various Social media sites
• Able to work deadlines
• Confident in writing reports
• Experience as Programme Rep is desirable but not essential
Duties & Responsibilities of School Representatives:
• Influence the way your school is run by attending regular School Board meetings and having your say in the way your school is improved by raising issues on students’ behalf
• Regularly update the UELSU Vice-President of your School via regular meetings and reports
• Attend UELSU School Forum meetings
• Attending training for your role
• Comply with the University’s Rules and Regulations for students
