Hi I'm Naveen Pradeep, an MBA graduate and the current Education officer striving to make UEL a better place for students. I've been baptised with knowledge about the university by working with both the management and the students' union for over 2 years now.

Now I'm Ready to RE-RUN!!!!

 

What have I done? To vote for me

* Over 1000 hours of representing in committees, panels and Task & Finish Groups

* Recruited numerous staffs to work towards a better student experience

* Assisted students in disciplinary hearings

* Individual student issues have been dealt through the Union's advice team

* Helped the Education and Experience committee to approve an audit to be conducted for placements

* Trained more than 120 Course reps and introduced teams for the reps at solving issues within schools

* Digitised Core textbooks for PGT's (Ongoing completion)

* Successfully drafted the Student Charter, a document underpinned by students policies to create a better understanding of rights

* Created an Internal survey for the Ph.D. students

* Improved resources for Arts & Design students

* The degree-awarding gap for BAME students was brought into light through the 1st Education Forum

* Post-study work visa has also been introduced in my term after campaigning with NUS

What do I intend to do?

  • Placements and work-based learning will be fixed by involving students in Focus groups with the Employer Engagement team and reviewing the policies.
  • Publishing Student Charter for better association between the students and the university
  • Building a solid Course Representation for the union to be used to tackle more school-level issues
  • Working with the Union in creating and training the Paid Part-time officers
  • Help signing and introducing a new E-book platform for all students
  • Counter-proposing for Printing Credits
  • Exploring Student Coaches (Peer-peer support within schools)
  • Advocating towards Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups Degree-Awarding gap and Diversifying the Curriculum
  • Being Equally active at all three campuses
  • Improving Learning resources for as much as schools and courses possible  

 

Union's broader organisational objectives will be prioritised for better overall student experience.
