The only comedy club on campus restarts this Thursday 06 October. The club successfully ran during the last academic year, so we have brought it back. Several of the comedians who appeared in our last run in spring 2022 have gone on to appear on some of the UK’s biggest TV and radio comedy shows, including BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and The Now Show and Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
This week’s headline act is Robert White who was runner-up on Britain's Got Talent. Our MC (host) is James Redmond. Supporting acts include Andrew Mensah (who doubles as a BT Sport presenter), Saphire McIntosh and Inder Manocha. So five comedians in one event!
Entrance is free. Doors open at 19:15 for a 19:30 start. It will finish around 21:15 with a short interval/break halfway through. The venue is the West Building theatre in Docklands.
You can bring your own soft drinks and (non-odorous) snacks if you want.
Dispelling a myth: Our shows do not involve comedians ‘picking on’ members of the audience. The comedians are professionals who are there to perform their material. Audience members can interact if they wish, but they are not forced to do so, and are not singled out if they do not wish to engage. We encourage audience members to engage because it makes for a more fun show, but it is not compulsory.
