The Returning Officer has annulled the election for delegates to NUS National Conference held on 09-11 October 2018.
Before the votes were counted, an error was detected in the setup of the election which meant that any count would not be accurate. The error cannot be resolved retrospectively and, therefore, it is not possible to correctly count the votes.
The Returning Officer has recommended that the election should be re-run at a later date. The Board of Trustees will decide how to proceed with the election of delegates in due course.
There is no suggestion of deliberate wrongdoing by any voter, candidate or staff. Other elections held simultaneously are not affected.
NUS National Conference will take place on 09-11 April 2019.
