The election of delegates for NUS National Conference will take place in February 2019.
What is it?
National Conference is the sovereign policy-making body of the National Union of Students and brings together nearly 1,000 delegates from students' unions across the country to discuss, debate and vote on motions and elect the political leadership of the organisation for the year ahead. You can read more about Conference here.
UEL Students' Union sends four delegates to represent UEL students' views.
When and where?
Conference will take place on 09-11 April 2019 in Glasgow.
All UEL students are eligible to seek election as a delegate and also to vote in the election. The successful candidates must be available to attend the conference on the dates above. UEL Students' Union will pay for travel, accommodation and food for delegates. At least two of UEL's four delegates must be women.
Nominations will open at 08:00 on 13 February and close at 17:00 on 20 February. Voting will take place on 25-27 February.
UEL Students' Union will provide training for candidates on how to run a successful election campaign. It will also provide additional training for delegates on how the conference works and how they can get the most from Conference.
You can nominate yourself here.
