MANIFESTO
Hello there, my name is Sandra Chioma Silver; I am studying M.Sc. Finance and Risk.
I want to challenge the status-quo, make an impact in people’s lives and be a part of the change I want to see.
- I will work with my fellow executives and the University to seek ways to improve the timetabling and enrolment issues faced by many students. I would also seek ways to see that lectures are scheduled to start late in the morning as I am aware that a large population of students have kids and other responsibilities.
- The quality of the catering on campus especially the docklands and USS campus is poor, expensive and insufficient. I will start a petition and get students to sign it and take it up to university board to enforce a change.
- I know that the relationships built in the university usually last long and impact our lives, so I would seek new ways to improve student interaction, networking and fun activities on campus. I would create an online community for students. It would give us a platform to interact, search for accommodation, give out old books, advertise their personal business, seek help and advice on any issue. It will be online so that it can be accessible to students on or off campus during term time and holidays as well. We should also have a student notice board
- I would see that more copies of textbooks are provided in the library
- I would start ENACTUS-UEL and see to its smooth running and progress. ENACTUS is a global organisation which partners with universities and corporate organisation to build entrepreneurial, leadership and team work abilities in students. I have started working on this at the moment
- I would ensure that I make myself known and approachable
