Hey there fellow UEL students,
My name is Vishnu Priya Koliyot, but feel free to call me Priya. I’m running for the position of Vice President (Business, Law and Psychology).
I’m currently doing my PhD in international relations and this is my second year. But I’ve been in UEL since 2014 while doing my Masters and I’ve got to say, I’m witnessing the university get better and cooler each year!
However, it saddens me that despite the quality of lectures and course modules, not all our graduates once they leave the university are confident to gain the employment they want.
My aim is to ensure every student regardless of their course or nationality gets the opportunity to get work experience and internship in their subject area so that we become highly employable and leave the university confident and ready for the real world.
I will be taking advantage of my experience of working with the Careers and Student Employability team so as to bring tie ups with the best companies and organizations so as to ensure that every UEL graduate is capable of securing a graduate level job.
If elected,
- I will ensure that the university provides mandatory work experience opportunities to match their course programmes so that every student leaves the university as a highly desirable employee.
- I will also ensure the shuttle bus service runs longer till 9:00 PM so that students having evening lectures aren’t left out.
- It would be my pleasure to help students with their issues and struggles in University and ensure their experience is a memorable one!
