Dear Students,
I am Tonia Patsalou, a 2nd year Criminology & Psychology student and I am re-running for the position of International European Students’ officer with the team United We Stand.

United We Stand is a team of 16 amazing candidates from across the world, who United aim to:
1. Bring back a vibrant, transparent and accountable Students' Union where students are aware of what's going on.
2. Introduce free printing for all students.
3. Bring back Boat Parties and Fiction nights, enriching our nightlife events.
4. An improved social life on campus with better spaces and options for socialising, eating, relaxing, and praying for all religions.
5. Getting things done for students through our democratic processes and committees.

If I get re-elected as your International European Students’ Officer I pledge to:

-    Keep the European students up to date with the Brexit negotiations and lead a UEL delegation to the march on March 25th!
-    Lobby Members of Parliament (MP’s) to ensure our rights of living in the United Kingdom
-    Whilst respecting the mandate to leave the European Union, organising and collaborating with other bodies will become a SU priority to keep the United Kingdom in the Single Market since this secures an open, inclusive and accessible relationship between the UK & the EU.
-    Work with the International Non-EU officer and the SU Executive to bring back International Week, honouring the Students’ Council policy that was totally ignored this year by the Executives.

I believe that EU students should feel welcome in the UK just as UK citizens should feel welcome across the EU. Let’s not allow our differences to divide us, but our similarities to unite us.
Stand by me so I can stand by you, because United We Stand!
