Hey everyone, its Shiv Venna from MSc Computer Science, who wants to be your Activities and Opportunities officer for the coming academic year 2020/2021. Activities is all about satisfying the soul and having FUN, whatever your interest may be, with me as an Activities and Opportunities officer there will never be a dull moment with bundle of opportunities to showcase your fancy dress, your Guitar playing skills, your volunteering experiences etc. What not, you just ask for it, and I’ll try my best to make it happen for every student to get best memories in college life by providing more opportunities to participate in different activities which they are interested, to make that possible as an Activities and Opportunities officer please checkout my future plans.
My Major Action Plans would be:
- Act as a bridge with every society to encourage them for the creation of events, help them to secure funding, and help them reach out to more students for their active participation.
- Provide equal opportunity for every society to run their events successfully by supporting them in every step by giving ideas and supporting with required funding.
- Conduct Fresher events to encourage students to know each other and build a friendship.
- Create on-campus activities that will help with student retention
- Conduct university-wide events for all the students to show case talents in many co-curricular activities.
- Creating a platform for the students to explore their talents by encouraging them on both on and off campus events.
- Take appropriate measures for the Women Safety during events to avoid unpleasant environment.
- Create monthly events chart and publish it to reach more students for the success of events.
- Conduct inter-college sports and games events for students.
- Find more number of volunteering opportunities for the students to have an engagement with others.
- Encourage equal participation all students without any discrimination towards any community.
- Become a person who is easily accessible to share your ideas and thoughts, and help you for the success of those ideas.
- Encourage for the creation of new societies by providing the opportunities of training, allocation of funding, and space for the activities.
- Establish good marketing network for student union event that will help to reach out for more students.
Apart from the above, I want to be in touch with every society and help them to conduct monthly meet-ups with students and organize cultural events regularly to show the diversity in campus and share their cultural backgrounds with everyone.
