Hello everyone, my name is Kartikkumar Patel, I am studying MBA with placement. I Just started my journey in University of east London last September-2019, which is amazing and memorable till lifelong.
From the day one I realise that, there are so many activities going around in this University which is not directly related to study but also plays a major role in student life i.e. Mental health, wellbeing, Stress reliving and most Importantly Charity (Volunteering services). I have taken part in few of them. But the important thing is that not every student is interested or involving him/herself in these opportunities. So, I decided to go deep and invest my time to find the roots of these activities like how these opportunities and events are created and I found Student Union, which is unique system and run for the betterment of Students. This year there is a UEL Student union Election and I am standing in for Activities and Opportunities officer. I really want to uplift the confidence of each students and involving them into Extra co-curricular activities which is directly and indirectly helping them to make their life easy and learn so many skills and values which they can treasure in their personal and professional life. I believe that every little step towards goal will lead to change in life.
As an Activities and Opportunities officer, I want to create more opportunities for the students and want to meet large no of students from different courses and nationalities and having their reviews about their life at UEL and what change they want which ultimately benefitted UEL and their own lives.
I want to share my future plans for the betterment of Students’ life at UEL.
- To work as a bridge between students and UEL and make a simple platform that everyone can come and speak about their views.
- UEL is doing number of activities apart from study and I am very happy that I am studying here and I want to educate all students about these opportunities and I will try my best that every student will take part in these events and happenings, especially freshers who just join UEL.
- Sport activities are very helpful to every student who want to involve themselves actively in sports and I believe the time and money will not be barrier for anyone.
- The regular updates through email and social media updates plays a major role to promote events and I want to share more information through this channel so no one missed any important events which they can regret letter.
- I want that every student shares their own opinion, ideas and views about events and other happenings around University and in their own life which will help them to focus on their goals. To makes things possible I would suggest starting support centre near HUB and in Student Union office.
- The upcoming events will plan in such a way that every student can take part without any hesitation and having more clarity about outcomes which will be more useful for students and for those who hosting the events.
- I am easily accessible to share your ideas and thoughts, and I will put my all efforts to make them live. I am very open minded so I have a plan to put suggestion box near HUB or any corner of class so students can share their ideas to makes the things better.
- I suggest every student to take part in different society through student union and involving yourselves with others to release your tension and stress about anything in your life, for that I want transparency and clear communication between student union and students to know how the decisions are made and affect the life of students.
- One important thing I want to involve a greater number of students to take part in Charity and volunteering services which will help them in Civic management and for their personal growth.
I want to make every moment happy and spreading joy in everyone life through this very innovative and exciting role of Activities and Opportunities Student officer. I want to be in touch with all students with different societies to initiate the various
