There are a number of part-time officer roles across the Students' Union. Part-time officers are students who volunteer to represent different groups of students and steer the Students' Union as members of our Students' Council. Part-time officers support the full-time officers by feeding back information from fellow students, attending committees and campaigning.

 Women's Officer:  Gracie Lloyd (u1436511@uel.ac.uk)

The Women's Officer must self-define as a woman and is elected by women students only.
Their role is to represent female students at UEL, within the Students' Union, the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of women's issues, for encouraging the involvment of women students in their Union and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to women students. Finally, they hold responsibility for events, campaigns and activities organised under the banner of Women's Campaign.

 

Black Students' Officer:  Yazmin Ahmed (u1533974@uel.ac.uk)

The Black Students' Officer must self-define as black, as defined by NUS Black Students Campaign, and is elected by black students only.
Their role is to represent black students at
 UEL, within the Students' Union, the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of black students' issues, for encouraging the involvment of black students in their Union and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to black students. Finally, they hold responsibility for events, campaigns and activities organised under the banner of Black Students' Campaign.
 

LGBT Officer:  Daniel Holmes (u1401673@uel.ac.uk)

The LGBT Officer must self-define as LGBT and is elected by LGBT students only.
Their role is to represent LGBT students at UEL, within the Students' Union, the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of LGBT issues, for encouraging the involvment of LGBT students in the Union and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to LGBT students.


 

International (EU) Students' Officer:  Antonia Patsalou (u1333928@uel.ac.uk)

The International (EU) Students' Officer must be a non-home student from within the European Union and is elected by non-home students from within the EU only. 
Their role is to represent International (EU) students at UEL, within the Students' Union, the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of international students' issues, for encouraging the involvment of International students in the Union and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to International students.

 

 

International (Non-EU) Students' Officer:  Jamila Lamarre (u1513469@uel.ac.uk)

The International (Non-EU) Students' Officer must be a non-home student from outside the European Union and is elected by non-home students from outside the EU only. 
Their role is to represent International (Non-EU) students at UEL, within the Students' Union, the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of international students' issues, for encouraging the involvment of International students in the Union and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to International students. Finally, they hold responsibility for events, campaigns amd activities organised under the banner of International Students' Campaign.

 

Sports Officer: Kelly Kenubia (kay_kay4reela@yahoo.com)

The Sports Officer's role is to represent UEL students both within the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of sports related issues and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to sport.
They are to work closely with UEL Sports and the Director of Sports, the sports captains and to liaise with local community groups and other organisations in line with the Sports Officer's areas of responsibility.


Ethics & Environment Officer: Aristotelis Papounidis (u1242843@uel.ac.uk)

The Ethics & Environment Officer represents UEL students both within the University and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of ethical & environmental issues and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to environmental issues.
Finally, they are to liaise with local community groups and other organisations in line with their areas of responsibility.

 

Mature Students' Officer: Moses Carayol (u1434206@uel.ac.uk)

The Mature Students' Officer must be 22 or older during their first year of studies at UEL and be elected by members who are 22 or older during their first year of studies only.
Their role is to represent UEL mature students within the University, the Students' Union and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of mature students issues, for encouraging the involvement of mature students and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to mature students.
Finally, they hold responsibility for events, campaigns and activities organised under the banner of the Mature Students' Campaign.


Student Parents' Officer: Sam Masaba (u1232510@uel.ac.uk)

The Student Parents' Officer must be a parent and be elected by students who are also parents.
Their role is to represent UEL student parents within the University, the Students' Union and in the wider community.
They are also responsible for the promotion of student parents issues, for encouraging the involvement of student parents and for coordinating the work of the Union on all matters relevant to student parents.
Finally, they hold responsibility for events, campaigns and activities organised under the banner of the Student Parents' Campaign.

Our volunteers representatives represent the Students' Union's volunteers on Students' Council. They are there to ensure that enough support, guidance and training is provided to our volunteers and provide various ideas about what volunteering projects the Union could engage with.
 

Societies Representatives are student society organisers who are elected by other society organisers to sit on UELSU Council, and also make decisions about societies as part of the UELSU Activities Committee:
