NUS and Liberation Conferences Delegates

Who can run for an NUS Delegate or Liberation Conference delegate position?

NUS and other liberation Conferences delegates are elected by cross campus ballot to represent the interest and the views of UEL students in line with the Students’ Union’s policies at national NUS conferences. Liberation conference delegates are elected within their self-defining groups.

The regulations are set out in both the UELSU Constitution (the UEL Students union’s governing document) and the Bye-Laws. Below we will summarise these:

If you wish to be a candidate for a NUS Conference Delegate or Liberation Conference delegate position you need to answer “YES” to the following; 

* Are you a currently enrolled Student at UEL?

* Are you available to attend the conference on dates as detailed below? Dates for NUS conferences:

  • 05/03/19 - 06/03/19: NUS UK Women Students’ Conference
  • 06/04/19 – 11/04/19: NUS UK National Conference
  • 16/03/19 – 17/03/19: NUS Black Students’ Summer Conference
  • 08/05/19 – 09/05/19: NUS Disabled Students’ Conference
  • 22/05/19 – 23/05/19: NUS LGBT+ Students’ Conference
