Women's History Month

This March we will be celebrating the social, political, and cultural achievements that women have made throughout history.

We will also be taking the time to highlight the inequalities that women still face today and use our platform to promote women’s equality within the University and the professional world.

How to get involved?

Join us in celebrating Women’s History Month this year by coming to the events we have planned this month. Take a look at our events calendar and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Join the women's student community which works to represent and campaign for change for women studying at the University of East London. Any student that self-identifies as a woman can join the community, and help to shape the work that we do running events, creating institutional change, and ensuring women’s voices are heard at UEL.

Join the conversation!

Interested in finding out more about women in leadership? Come to our ‘Women, start early, start small’ panel discussion to learn more about the factors that play a role in encouraging women to become leaders.

Join us as we explore the reasons why the covid-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted women. From economic instability to childcare and caring responsibilities, to unequal domestic labour expectations, we will discuss the potential implications on gender equity, and what can be done about it.

Come along to the Women's History Month: alumni online panel event taking place on Tuesday 2 March to hear from selected alumni from the University to hear more about their career paths since graduating.
