Financial control workshop

Thursday 18 April 2024 - noon - 1pm
Arthur Edwards Building, Stratford

Statistics show that 18-25 year-olds are the most at risk from economic abuse. It's a legally recognised form of domestic abuse which involves the control of a partner or ex-partner’s money and finances, as well as the things that money can buy. 1 in 5 women in the UK have experienced economic abuse by a current or former partner.

We're hosting a workshop led by the charity Surviving Economic Abuse and the Financial Conduct Authority to raise awareness of the signs of economic abuse, and to signpost students towards support and resources.

If you think that you, a friend or family member could be a victim of economic abuse, or if you'd just like to learn more about the warning signs, we'd encourage you to come along.
